Evesham Medieval Market 2026

Saturday 16th May

The Medieval Market has been running in Evesham for a good few years now, and Musyck Anon have been taking part since 2022! The event attracts huge visitor numbers, so it truly is an honour for us to attend and sing in our home town. Even this year, when we were reduced to six singers and no conductor, we were determined to put on a good show.

We pitched ourselves at the edge of All Saints Church, hoping that the wall behind us would carry our voices a little further. With a selection of songs chosen because they are easier to perform without a conductor, we sang as loud as possible, competing with the noise of the busy market. Not that we mind busy – there was a constant stream of people walking by, and many stopped to listen to a song or two. It was nice to have the opportunity to introduce ourselves as an Evesham choir, and wave at a few friends walking by.

Previous years have seen clear skies and hot sunshine, but not so this year. As we sang through our second set, dark clouds began to gather and the temperature dropped. We were convinced that the heavens were going to open, and luckily, we finished just in time before the rain came. Thankfully, it didn’t come to much, so people could go on enjoying the event, but Musyck Anon packed up happy that we had done a good job for such a small group.

Dark skies over Evesham

Huzzah for the Medieval Market - long may it continue!
