Repertoire

reMusyck Anon has a wide repertoire of songs, and we are happy to vary our performances to suit different occasions and groups.

The sort of programmes we offer are:

A concert of songs

If your group enjoys just listening to music, we can provide up to an hour's concert of songs, adding variety to the performance with solos and performances by small groups.
Concerts would usually include a range of music, some from our early music repertoire and some contemporary works.
It is a good idea, both for the audience and the singers, if an hour's performance includes a short interval.

Music in history

On some occasions, we plan our performance round a particular theme.
We plan interludes in the programme where one of our members will talk about the historical context of our songs, about a particular local or topical historical event or about one of our favourite composers.
We aim for presentations that are light-hearted as well as informative. Both our costumes and our music help to make history come alive.
We have performed concerts of this kind specifically for the Anniversary of the King James's Bible, and for the Winchcombe Festival, which celebrated the quincentenary of the birth of Queen Catherine Parr (born in 1512).
More recently, in 2014, we celebrated the hundredth anniversary of the Christmas Truce during the First World War and, in 2016, we celebrated the Seven Ages of Shakespeare in words and music, which raised funds for the Evesham Bell Tower Appeal.

Outdoor performances in 17th century dress

These are not concert performances, but music that passers-by might enjoy.
We have sung for many years in the Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations, delighting the many visitors to Stratford with our music and costumes, which add to the atmosphere of the occasion.
We love the informality of this sort of performance and the chance it gives us to meet new audiences and interact with the public

Christmas concerts

Rather than a conventional Carol Concert, we provide an eclectic mix of music and entertainment to celebrate the Christmas season.
Our programme includes madrigals, carols and part songs, from early to contemporary works.
As with our other concerts, we include some individual items and/or performances by small groups, and often some carols for audience participation.

Please contact our Secretary, who will be glad to discuss with you the sort of programme you want.
Given time to prepare, we will do our best to present something special for the occasion you are planning.
